Featured as part of Kala Vandana’s 20th anniversary, this program, “Celebrations” will give a glimpse into festivals and celebrations from all regions of India, through Bharatanatyam and traditional folk dances. It will feature Sundara Swaminathan and graduates of Kala Vandana, accompanied by musicians from Chennai, India.
Audience will be taken to the far-east of India with a tribal Naga dance, to the far south of India to Kerala and Tamil Nadu, with classical and folk dances. Melodious music for classical dance will echo from the north in Hindi, from east in Bengali and from south in Tamil.
In all, “Celebrations” promises to be a celebration for the audience, for the dancers, and for the musicians.
